Radio Host Gerry Anderson dies at 69
We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Gerry Anderson, one of Ireland’s foremost broadcasters
More than any other personality in the media, Gerry publicly broadcast his regret when he heard that Avalon Guitars had gone into liquidation in May 2012. He even appealed on air, on more than one occasion, for someone to rescue the company!
That rarely, if ever, happens on the BBC! A few months later, Steve met him and told him that the company had been restored and was back in business – Gerry was genuinely thrilled and delighted to hear this news.
What a contrast now at our sorrow, knowing we will never again hear his ability to connect with everyone, his clever banter and rapier wit. We will miss you.
